Buying a pressure transmitter, 10 tips you need to know-part1

What pressure transmitter parameters do I need to provide when buying a pressure transmitter? In fact, it is very simple to buy a pressure transmitter that suits you. Just master and determine a few factors.

What kind of medium is being measured by the pressure transmitters, or the properties of the medium

Viscous liquids and mud will block the pressure port. Will solvents or corrosive substances damage the transmitter? To be precise, will it damage the materials in direct contact with the medium. The above factors will determine what material the pressure transmitter is in contact with the medium, or whether to choose a direct isolation membrane.

Measuring range of pressure transmitters

This measurement range is one of the keys during the purchase process, which affects the price. Then first determine the very large value of the measured pressure in the system. Generally speaking, it is necessary to select a transmitter with a pressure range that is 1.5 times larger than the very large value. This is mainly because in many systems, especially in water pressure measurement and processing, there are peaks and continuous irregular up and down fluctuations. This instantaneous peak can destroy the pressure sensor. Continuously high pressure values or slightly exceeding the very large value of the transmitter's calibration will shorten the life of the sensor, and doing so will also reduce the accuracy. So a buffer can be used to reduce the pressure glitch, but this will reduce the response speed of the sensor. Therefore, the pressure range, accuracy and stability should be fully considered when selecting a transmitter.

The ambient temperature range of the pressure transmitters

Usually a transmitter will calibrate two temperature ranges, one of which is the normal task temperature, and the other is the temperature compensation area. The normal task temperature area refers to the temperature area at which the transmitter is not destroyed in the task form. , When the temperature compensation field is exceeded, the functional goal of its use will not be achieved.

The temperature compensation area is a typical area smaller than the task temperature area. In this field, the mission transmitter will surely reach its due functional target. The temperature change affects its input from two aspects, one is the zero drift, and the other is the full-scale input. Such as: full scale, reading, full scale when exceeding the temperature range, and reading when in the temperature compensation range. Without these parameters, it will lead to uncertainty in application. Whether the change of the transmitter input is caused by the pressure change or the temperature change. Temperature effects are a very complicated part of understanding how to use a transmitter.

Also consider: power supply form, voltage value, pressure tube (corrugated tube) material, output form.
